A couple of nights ago having watched the news before turning in for the night, I lay in bed, eyes wide and body fidgeting, while my mind whirred. Members of Parliament acting like children, environmental damage that no-one with any power wants to act upon and a crisis in education funding. No wonder I couldn’t sleep. My poor brain had been whipped up into a frenzy of jumbled thoughts and a feeling of ‘what could I be doing?’ I rarely watch the news before bed for this very reason, my brain just can’t cope with it at that time of night.
On other occasions it’s been watching crime thrillers that have made me jumpy and have kept me from sleep.
