September Productivity Prompt Day 22: Me Time

How often do you get to the end of the day and your mind goes into overdrive because you haven’t had a moment to think?

How often does life feel overwhelming because you just don’t get a moment to yourself?

The thought of ‘me-time’ can often seem quite selfish but it’s absolutely necessary for your physical and mental health.

Let’s think about how you can find some me-time in your day.

Think of your perfect way to spend some time without interruptions. For me a massage, followed by a good cup of coffee and some cake without the kids poking me would be utter bliss. Unfortunately, my budget nor my childcare arrangements allow this to happen very often! Instead, think about how you can make the most of the other things that you already do to create some peace. I can pretty much guarantee that if I ask my kids to help wash-up in the kitchen they flee, leaving me in peace. I could (and often do) look on this job as a unwanted task, but every cloud has a silver lining!

Could you look on a household task with a different mindset? Could you get out during the day for a walk? Could you lock the bathroom door and enjoy a bubble bath?

For those of you who’ve been inspired to carve out some me-time, either today or in the past, how did it go? How do you feel now that you’ve done it? Add your comments below.

Come back tomorrow for your next nudge into productivity.
