September Productivity Prompt Day 21: Exercise

How often do you get to the end of the day and berate yourself because you haven’t done any exercise?

How often do you get the kids to bed and then can’t find the motivation to do anything other than collapse in front of the TV?

Let’s think about how you can fit some exercise into your day. We’re not going to overwhelm ourselves by making plans to run a marathon, instead we’re going to think about how we can make a subtle change to our daily habits so that we can fit in a bit of exercise.

Have a think about your day tomorrow. Could you replace a car journey with a walk? Could you spend 20 minutes of your lunch break exploring a local park? Could you do an online yoga class after the kids are settled? Could you delegate a household task like on day 19 so that you have time to get out for a jog?

Now tell someone your plan – saying it aloud often helps you to carry it through. You could even invite them to come with you.

For those of you who’ve been inspired to exercise, either today or in the past, how did it go? How do you feel now that you’ve done it? Add your comments below.

Come back tomorrow for your next nudge into productivity.
