You’ve been asked to do a five-minute presentation to a group of young schoolchildren on the topic of your choice. Describe your presentation.

Bit of a busman’s holiday, this one!  Five minutes isn’t long, but the class I’ve got this year are far more manageable when their learning is presented to them in small chunks so 5-7 minutes is what I aim for.  Unfortunately we get little choice about what we present to the children and it’s all driven by the prescribed curriculum.  But given the choice, I’d probably share a favourite childhood book with them; we get so little time to just read for pleasure in the classroom and it’s a skill and passion that they should all have.
