I’m sorry, I’ve been neglecting you. As a teacher I have great holidays but I also end up in a mad scramble to complete all my jobs before the end of term. As you already know, I’m a huge procrastinator and I put everything off until the last minute so I’ve had a huge pile of jobs to get done and as a result I’ve barely been at home for the past month!
As I write this I’m finally putting my feet up… we finished today and I have 6 weeks and 3 days of keeping myself out of mischief. What am I going to do with myself, apart from finishing all the work I didn’t get done in term time!
I’ve been looking at lots of projects; I’ve got a couple to post over the next few days – I’ve been making some projects with my class at school so they’re easy projects to do over the holidays with nine year olds with terrible sewing skills! That’s a bit unfair to the ones who could actually sew (and whose work I photographed) but one of them managed to sew himself, a pen and a pair of scissors to his work! We all moved our chairs away just in case he decided to sew one of us to it!
I’m looking forward to the chance to do some baking; I feel like I’ve barely set foot in the kitchen for the last month as I’ve been working ridiculous hours. I’ve got my eye on some cakes first and then some flapjacks.
I’ve thought about doing a little experiment next year and recording exactly how many hours I work over the course of the year – officially I’m employed to work 1265 hours over 195 days of the year. I’d be interested to see when I reach that mark and how many days it takes me to get there! I might start a blog…. or perhaps I should just concentrate on the one I’ve already got!
