I bought this beautiful material a few months ago and used some of it to make a Nappy Changing Mat for a friend with a newborn, but I kept getting the remnant out from the shelf and looking at it to see if it inspired me to make something with it.
As I was stumbling around the internet I discovered this One Hour Bag Pattern on Skip to my Lou – I love bags – normally leather Radley numbers but I’m beginning to make my own as my sewing improves. I had a couple of hours free on a cloudy Bank Holiday afternoon so I decided to see if it really did take an hour…. well it would have done, even including all the cutting out, but I decided to adapt the pattern and made two pockets for the inside. It was also the first time I’d played with magnetic clasps, which weren’t at all difficult, but just a bit fiddly. Definitely worth a go – I think it would make a great Christmas present!
