Day 58: Comedy of Errors

Murphy’s Law says, “Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.” Write about a time everything did — fiction encouraged here, too!

Some days I have clumsy days. I think this is because of the carpal tunnel in my wrists. On these occasions I’ve normally had so many things go wrong before I walk out of the door that I just think I should go back to bed rather than facing the rest of the day!

I had one of these days a couple of weeks ago. We’d made it through the getting dressed part of the morning and had gone downstairs for breakfast. I passed little B his beaker which he promptly lifted to his mouth and got soaked. Cue tears and confusion; I realised I hadn’t put the lid on properly. I got him tidied up and went back to making our drinks; I lifted the sugar pot out of the cupboard and spilt it everywhere. Little B thought this was hugely entertaining! I then started to take the lunches out of the fridge ready to put in bags and dropped a yogurt which promptly smashed at my feet, covering me in the process. Little B simply said ‘oh dear’ which made me laugh and feel better about it. After getting changed the day fortunately passed without incident. At least these days don’t appear too often.

Bonus assignment: do you keep a notebook next to your bed? Good. Tomorrow morning, jot down the first thought you have upon waking, whether or not it’s coherent.
