Journal Pen Holder Tutorial

This month I’ve taken part in the Stationery Swap run by Jocelyn over on The Reading Residence. Along with some unused stationery from my stash, I’ve made a pen holder for an A5 size journal to add to the little parcel that will soon be winging it’s way across Europe.

When I posted the finished product on my Instagram account @keepsplanningmischief, Katie at Find The Good Every Day asked if I’d do a tutorial as the last one she made was a bit of a disaster! So just for Katie, and anyone else who’s interested, here’s my tutorial for an A5 journal pen cover.

The elastic should be 5.5cm to make a snug fit on a hardback notebook. This is slightly longer as I’m using it as a page marker further inside the journal.
At this point you really should iron the whole thing flat before sewing down the middle of the pen slot. Unfortunately, today is the hottest day of the year so far and I refuse to put the iron on! 🤣
