October Sleep 22: Breathe

As we speed through life, rushing from one task to another, we sometimes forget to concentrate on the simple things that can help our mental health and improve our mood.

Take a moment to concentrate on your breath. Really concentrate. Take 10 deep breaths. It’ll make you feel calmer and you’ll be ready to face whatever next step you need to take.

In my teacher support role, I often recommend that staff remember to take a breath before they react to a situation in school. A calm body and calm mind are essential when supporting children.

For those of you who’ve been inspired to focus on your breathing, either today or in the past, how did it go? How do you feel now that you’ve done it? Did it improve the quality of your sleep? Add your comments below.

Come back tomorrow for your next nudge into peaceful sleep.
