I used to be one of those people who would lie in bed at the end of the day thinking over the different conversations I’d had during the course of the day and finding faults or wishing I’d handled them differently.
I say used to be, because I realised, after a conversation with a colleague, it was having an impact on my sleep. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good to be reflective, just not when it’s time to go to sleep!
I now use my commuting time as my time for reflection. If I decide something needs to be done I’ve got time to email or phone before the end of the day. If I’m worrying about it at bedtime, it’s too late to do anything about it.
So now, I climb into bed and I ‘let it go!’
I apologise if you’re now singing in a Disney style!
For those of you who’ve been inspired to forgive and/or forget, either today or in the past, how did it go? How do you feel now that you’ve done it? Did it improve the quality of your sleep? Add your comments below.
Come back tomorrow for your next nudge into peaceful sleep.
