As a teacher I was aware of the magical effect of lavender in the classroom. If we’d had a particularly exciting week and we needed a little peace and quiet on a Friday afternoon, I used to spray lavender air freshener around before the kids came back in after lunch and it would guarantee me a class full of calm children! Now, with two children at home, I spray lavender essential oil mist on their pillows at bedtime to help them to drift off to sleep.
Always works for them, so I thought I’d give it a try myself and, whether it was a placebo effect or not, I drifted off quickly too. Might be worth a try if some of the other things you’ve been trying this month haven’t worked for you.
For those of you who’ve been inspired to use lavender, either today or in the past, how did it go? How do you feel now that you’ve done it? Did it improve the quality of your sleep? Add your comments below.
Come back tomorrow for your next nudge into peaceful sleep.
